Pink Salmon 101

Pink Salmon 101

Pink Salmon (Beach and River) 101

Pink Salmon 101 is an educational course designed for anglers of all abilities looking to target pinks on the fly on both beaches and up rivers.

Pinks are one of the most anticipated fisheries Van Isle offers. With easy access to casting off the beaches or up a river, they are great for high number days. In this class we will provide a wide variety of information that will help you become an educated angler, helping you catch more fish on your travels.

In this class you can expect to learn the following information:

Species Identification

Biology/Life Cycle

Vancouver Island range

History

Location habitat (river, lake)

Food sources

Timing of species in certain waters

Rod, reel and line selection, wader choices and salt water care techniques

Fly selection and retrieval techniques

Conservation

This class is full of information and truly too much to cover in one night. The class will be broken down into:

Wednesday Aug 9th 6:30pm: Fly tying night, $75, all materials supplied

Friday Aug 11th 6:30pm: In house (free) information night, with an experienced local angler

Saturday Aug 12th: Fish Out! Fishing the beach in the early morning with our guide, and then moving to a river later on*. We suggest having a casting lesson before this class (if needed) so you can fully enjoy the educational info offered. $150

Book both the tie night and fish out day together, and save $25 dollars, that makes tie night and fish out $200 before taxes!

Only 6 spots available, call the shop at 2507924774 to reserve your seat, or email us at cumberlandflyshop@gmail.com

*a valid tidal and non-tidal fishing license is required for fish out. No License No Fishing No Exceptions!
